Mamma Mia! Here we go again...

My goal to post more is real. I can promise it won't be consistent, but more frequently is a reasonable goal, yeah? I've recognized my posting streak is so poor that I have decided that I will no longer post an oh-my-gosh-I'm-sorry-it's-been-so-long-since-I've-posted type thing. Accept me for I am: an inconsistent wannabe blogger (:

Anyways, moving on... This past Sunday, my friend Linda and I went to see Mamma Mia! and it was fan-tabulous. Broadway musicals are my ultimate love. If I had unlimited funds to spend in New York, I would literally spend a day (maybe two) sightseeing and the rest I would just watch Broadway productions and plays. For real.

The production was so well done and very entertaining! The cast was perfect for the roles and it was hilarious. I forgot how many crude jokes the musical made and really only noticed because there were a bunch of kids in the audience haha.

For those who don't know what the musical is about (first off, I'm shocked! And second, please go watch the movie immediately), it takes place in Greece and is essentially about a girl who's getting married and invites her 3 potential fathers to her wedding to try and figure which one it is... and her mom doesn't know she invited them. Yikes!

The musical was created around songs written by ABBA and it is complete and utterly amazing. The movie is great (Meryl Streep is a Goddess), but after seeing the Broadway production, I realized how the movie left out a lot of songs. That's to be expected, but still a bummer for musical fanatics like myself.

All in all, I would definitely pay to see it again if they are ever back in town! I can't wait for the next Broadway musical to hit town. I believe Newsies is coming to Vancouver this July and you can bet you bottom dollar I'm gonna be there!
