Hair Makeover

4/24/2014

Hello Blogettes!

Sorry I've been M.I.A. for the last couple of weeks. I just kind of needed a break from the Internet. I also started my practicum and have begun working 48-hour weeks.

Anyways, I coloured my hair a few weeks ago! It's not a real hair 'makeover', but it's a pretty big change for me. I've never gone this light before, but I like it! I've waited a bit to write this post because I wanted to see how the colour turned out over time. I wanted to go light for summer and I like how the colour I chose and how it turned out, for the most part. I'll go into more later. Here's the before:

This is my hair with a soft ombré effect (and yes, I'm wearing a plastic bag to protect my shirt). I just wanted some change so decided to go lighter. I decided with Garnier Olia in Lightest Golden Brown.

I actually had my friend do my hair for me so I didn't use the applicator, but it's pretty cool. I like it better than what I've seen with other box dyes that I've used when dying my mom's hair. It actually smells pretty nice, too. Especially considering it's a dye.

So it turned out pretty well, except for one weird part that didn't take as well. My friend suspects it's due to the fact that it still holds previous dye; however, the bleached area was fine. It kind of reduced the ombré effect, which I'm cool with. I was looking to switch it up anyways.

I tried taking a picture from a 'unique' angle to try and get the colour flow to be a bit better but it's hard. It's weird because in natural light, you don't see the weird dark spot nearly as much. It flows fine. I managed to take a picture a few days later and you can definitely see it more true to what you'd see in person. It's not that bad.

Anyways, despite the weird strip, I like the colour that turned out. My baby hairs at first were extremely light compared to the rest of my hair but it's evened out now so it doesn't look so weird. If would've looked awesome if only I didn't have that old dye in my hair, but oh well. I like the change. Hopefully you guys like the look, too! Let me know what you think in the comments :)
