Wanderlust

Hello, hello!

Boy do I have a case of fernweh! Lol, what a funny word.. "fernweh". I found it on Pinterest.

I think all this going to school full time and working is getting to me. I haven't had a real, non-school related vacation in like, 6 years. I just want a day free from school and all the work that comes with it. I miss having fun. I don't even get a break in April between my semesters. I'm going straight into my practicum. Last day of classes is on the 4th and I start on the 8th. Bashin' on through. I've already texted one of my best friends asking if we can do something fun that weekend haha. Gotta let loose for one weekend before I get busy again! It's okay though. I'm not complaining. I'd classify this feeling more as yearning. I know it's tough times, but I made the choice to be doing what I am right now and I know for a fact that if I had the option to change things, I wouldn't. In 9 months I'll be free and it'll all be totally worth it. I can't wait to get ahold of my diploma. A lot of hard work will have gone into that darn (and hella expensive) piece of paper!

So, yeah. I pretty much teased myself and went on Pinterest and looked under the "travel" search tab. Oh, man do I ever want to go on vacation.

Amalfi Coast, Italy
Look at how BEAUTIFUL THAT IS! Take me there!

Oh my gosh, and then there's GREECE (the pictures are of Santorini)! All the pictures I've ever seen of Greece are just so beautiful it doesn't even seem real. Like, seriously. I don't know why, but Greece has been my #1 place that I must visit before I die. I think this is all started after reading/watching the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, as well as reading another novel that took place there. I've been hooked for ages. Traveling to Europe would be like the ultimate treat. Perhaps in the future.

Though I'm not including it, I also saw a picture of the San Francisco bridge and all I could think of was Full House haha.

Another one of the places I'd like to visit is Vietnam. I haven't been there in over 8 years.

Fun Fact: My family is from Soc Trang. To be more exact, they live in certain cities within Soc Trang.
My family there probably wouldn't be able to pick me out of a crowd if they tried. I definitely don't look like the 12-year-old they last saw. Maybe they can recognize me based off of my high school graduation photos my parents gave them. Who knows? I think it'd be fun to go back. I could definitely get my tan on! ;) Last I checked, it was like, 34 degrees in Saigon (aka Ho Chi Minh City) while it was snowing here.

Anyways, looking at far away places was just for fun. I mean, for now I'd be more than happy to take like, a weekend trip to Harrison Hot Springs. Or anywhere, really. Frankly, I'd be happy just to have a 'vacation' away from school! Haha. Too bad I don't have any time, not to mention the fact that I'm buh-roke (in regards to the actual traveling)! Oh, the student life. Plus, the fact that I just recently bought my first car doesn't help my bank either haha. Totally worth it though! I felt like I hit a milestone with that purchase. There's no way I'd give up Grayson (the name of my car) for a vacation. Imma need him lots starting in April!

For now, I'm just going to live vicariously through photos and put my yearning to bed. Along with myself! It's been a long day. Maybe I'll get lucky and travel somewhere faraway in my dreams haha.
